Joe Lescota is a highly recognized executive level, automotive retail educator and presenter. Joe is frequently published in national publications and has presented at international, national and state associations and automotive conventions. His area of expertise and focus is on; dealership financial statement analysis, inventory management and controls with emphasis on teaching dealers how to control expenses leading to greater net profit and sustainability.

Joe Lescota served as the Chairman of the Automotive Marketing Department of Northwood University in Midland, Michigan ( 1997 – 2012) where he was recognized and awarded the prestigious “Faculty Excellence Award” (this award recognizes excellence in teaching and leadership by students and faculty) He is also the recipient of the Association of Finance and Insurance Professional association (AFIP) “Man of the Year” award for his contributions to furthering education in retail automotive. He also received the prestigious “Ring of Honor” from the National Independent Auto Dealers Association.

He has conducted workshops and educational seminars for Ford Motor Co, including design and implementation of course material for Ford’s Dealer Development program, General Motors as well as presenting to GM’s Minority Development program, Fiat -Chrysler Corp, Honda of Canada and Acura of Canada, Proton Motor Cars of Malaysia and many other manufacturers as well. He also consults for many franchised and independent used vehicle dealerships.

Joe brings his audiences over 35 years of front line retail automotive experience and shares real world, practical and often times controversial ideas in order for dealerships to compete in this higher competitive and efficient marketplace. Joe’s personal business philosophy is simple; “Gross is good but net profit is better.”

Industry used vehicle consultant and educator, Joe Lescota specializes in teaching dealers how to be more profitable in an existing and ever changing used vehicle market. Joe brings many low cost and no cost practical ideas to his workshops that dealers can take away and implement immediately upon their return to their dealerships. Joe enjoys provoking his audience in- order- to stir emotions which in turn stirs ideas which in turn leads to more successful and contemporary, entrepreneurial, dealer thinking and strategizing.

Joe is also the former Director of Dealer Development for the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA) 2012-2017

Joe Lescota, is in consultancy- partnership with Les-Cota Design Group, a firm specializing in independent auto dealership design nationally. CEO Michele “Shelly” Attila is NCIDQ certified, a LEED Accredited Professional and an active member of the International Interior Design Association. Les-Cota Design Group has worked on projects throughout the United States, Mexico, India and the UK. Shelly began her career in bio-containment laboratory design and transitioned into corporate and retail design. It is this unique background that gives her the ability to design spaces that create the emotional response of a retail space, the functionality of a corporate space and executed with the technical mindset of a laboratory. She understands that independent dealership design is not about creating pretty buildings; it’s about designing environments that appeal to buyers, support business operational functions and ultimately increases sales through improved buyer experience.
