THIS IS OUR STORY

Rebecca Chernek has worked in retail automotive for more than thirty years, gaining hands-on experience in literally every aspect of the industry—and just one look at her career resume shows it. Her skills run the gamut from sales to desking to her in-depth expertise as a director of finance. That skill set has given her the opportunity to work closely with some of the top automotive groups in the United States. Cutting her teeth during a time when many in the industry said, “women don’t belong in the car business,” Rebecca simultaneously bucked the odds and silenced her critics by proving herself a force to be reckoned with.


“If you don’t scrape some knees along the way,” she says, “you aren’t living the dream!”


Rebecca founded Chernek Consulting in 2001, providing finance and insurance training to a rapidly growing clientele of automotive dealers throughout North America. Her consultations include workshops, customized in-dealership training, F&I Roundtable events, remote webinars, and motivational talks. All coursework developed by Rebecca stresses the need for dealers to create a more customer-centric approach to sales, mitigating the gap between departments. She has assisted dealers in streamlining their processes from all aspects of the sale, finalizing the transaction with either a hybrid single-point sales associate or a traditional F&I manager. Her training includes utilizing a completely digitalized offline and online approach that reduces the time it takes to complete a sales transaction while ensuring adherence to compliance every step of the way.


Rebecca understands the digital life cycle, and how to “connect the disconnect” that exists between modern-day tech and old-school methodologies. She believes firmly that technology will never take the place of the all-important human factor but will instead enhance the overall customer experience by slicing through the red tape.


“The needs and desires of customers haven’t changed,” Rebecca says. “They still want to buy vehicles from brick-and-motor stores. They just don’t want to spend the entire day doing it—and frankly, who can blame them?”


Her credo is as simple as it is effective. Engaging early with the customer, whether online or in the dealership, breaks down barriers and creates the ultimate customer experience. Through her efforts,
